Missing Person / Abduction / Kidnapping

Missing Person Information

  • Name, nickname, aliases 
  • Home address and telephone number 
  • Parent/Guardian and Emergency Contacts (home & cell phone numbers) 
  • Date of birth 
  • Race, gender, and nationality 
  • Physical description (height, weight, hair color, eye color, clothing description, scars, or other physical characteristics) 
  • Photograph 
  • Summary of physical and mental health, including medications and known disorders 
  • Student Identification Number and Grade 
  • Bus number and bus stop 

Missing Person’s Last Known Whereabouts 

  • Date, time, and location last seen 
  • Last seen by whom 
  • Were there water or wooded areas in the vicinity? 

Missing Persons Procedures 

  • Notify the School Leader. 
  • Call Safety Services to report a missing person: 617-635-8000 and Boston Police - 911
  • Provide the “missing person” information above. 
  • Provide the missing person’s schedule for the day.

Abduction or Kidnapping Procedures 

  • Notify the School Leader and provide the reason for believing an abduction has occurred; give the “missing person” information listed above. 
  • Post faculty and/or staff at all exits and attempt to locate the missing person by questioning all departing persons. 
  • Thoroughly search the school and surrounding grounds and buildings.  Check restrooms, closets, or anyplace where a person can hide or be hidden.
