Blast off into learning with BAA's AVANCE STEAM Program!

Designed for students in grades K-6, our hands-on STEAM program takes young explorers on an exciting journey through the planets and beyond. Through creative projects, experiments, and teamwork, students explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and math while building curiosity, confidence, and problem solving skills. From designing space habitats to building planetary rovers, children learn by doing, connecting classroom concepts to real-world discovery in a fun, supportive environment where every learner can shine.

This unique program offers personalized literacy support for BPS students who are unable to attend in-person summer programs or who are enrolled in programs that do not provide specialized reading instruction. Highly qualified reading teachers work directly with families to schedule 10–15 hours of targeted, small-group or one-on-one instruction at times that are convenient throughout the summer. Lessons focus on strengthening foundational reading skills, including phonics, fluency, and comprehension, using evidence-based structured literacy practices. Our goal is to help students continue making progress and prevent summer learning loss in a flexible, supportive online environment.

Boston's Bridge to Excellence Summer STEM Academy is a full-day (8:00 AM-4:00 PM) program for K1-2 students that strengthens literacy and math skills through the district-selected BPS curriculum while bringing learning to life with daily hands-on STEM exploration in partnership with Concord Education. As the school's current on-site licensed provider for over three years, BBTE offers a trusted, safe, and culturally responsive environment. Students enjoy weekly field trips, sports and recreation, and engaging projects that build confidence, curiosity, and strong academic foundations for continued success.

Boston Higher Ground's NextGen Explorers Summer Learning Academy is a five-week, full-day program operating Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM, serving students in K2-8. The program integrates rigorous academics, STEM and arts enrichment, and structured social-emotional learning. Each day, students participate in two academic blocks, one ELA and one Math, led by licensed teachers and supported by paraprofessionals and youth mentors. Fridays are dedicated to experiential learning through weekly field trips to sites such as the Boston Nature Center, Drumlin Farm, Cathleen Stone Island, and the Museum of Science.

Hey Young World Inc. Health & Wellness Youth Camp is a summer program for youth ages 8-15 that promotes healthy living, fitness, and education. Participants take part in daily strength and conditioning, sports activities, reading enrichment, and health education while learning the importance of nutrition and teamwork. Activities include basketball, soccer, flag football, and outdoor recreation. The program provides a safe, structured environment where young people build confidence, discipline, leadership skills, and lifelong healthy habits.

The Summer Learning Academy runs Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM-1:30 PM, blending academics with enrichment in a fun, supportive environment. Students strengthen English, Math, and Cape Verdean Creole skills while exploring arts, media, sports, and culturally relevant projects. Hands-on learning, creative expression, and team activities build confidence, social-emotional skills, and a sense of community. Designed for Multilingual Learners and immigrant youth, the program celebrates students? cultures, encourages exploration, and provides meaningful summer experiences that prepare them for the school year ahead.

Catholic Charities Teen Center operates a full-day summer program for middle and high school students. The morning Summer Learning Academy, for students in grades 3 to 8, includes project-based academic enrichment with afternoons for competitive and recreational sports, recreation, arts, community service, and focus groups. The Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School's Summer Learning Academy supports students with academic interventions and enrichment activities that prevent summer learning loss, build social and emotional skills, and prepare students for their next grade level. This summer, we invite middle and high school students interested in fitness careers to explore pathways in personal training and martial arts. High school participants join as paid Student Trainers ($15/hour) and complete an interview and trial classes to ensure strong alignment. Middle school students participate in a structured exploratory track, building foundational fitness knowledge, leadership skills, and confidence while learning about careers in the industry. Across both groups, youth engage in entrepreneurship coursework to strengthen Math and ELA skills, training in personal training concepts and client management, and martial arts instruction, alongside leadership and wellness development.

The Umana Summer Learning Program offers a full day, bilingual experience designed to keep students engaged, growing, and connected. Rooted in our Dual Language model, high quality culturally responsive instruction and powered by Project Based Learning, students strengthen math, literacy, and STEM skills through hands on, real world projects in Spanish and English. Enrichment partnerships include soccer, karate, and traditional folkloric dance. Our program blends academics, culture, and community to ensure students return to school confident and ready for success.

The Mary Lyon will be hosting a summer program for BPS students! We will provide an enriching day of academic and social emotional learning for all students. Students will participate in project based academics in the mornings and spend their afternoons doing enrichment activities. Over the past four summers, we have enjoyed going on weekly field trips around Boston and hope to continue this tradition.

The Mattahunt Dual Language Summer Program provides a dynamic and engaging bilingual learning experience in English and Haitian Creole. Students strengthen their reading, writing, math, and science skills through high-quality, standards-aligned instruction while participating in dance, STEM, music, art, and exciting field trips. Our program connects academics with hands-on, project-based learning that makes education meaningful and fun. Scholars build confidence, creativity, leadership, and bilingual communication skills in a supportive and culturally responsive environment. Northeastern's Bridge to Calculus(BtC), a Bridge to Science Program provides high quality math preparation for motivated BPS rising juniors/rising seniors  to enter STEM fields. Students get to choose from opportunities in practical physics, biology/chemistry, DataScience, AI. All students will be introduced to advanced Math topics through Math lecture series, financial literacy classes to equip them  to handle their future finances, alumni panels, visits by industry experts to provide students an enriching experience. Organizations like BottomLine will help students with college admission/college success. Northeastern mentors & BtC alum support students throughout the process. Students also get stipends ($15/hr.) for attending the full program.

The Summer Learning Academy @ Sportsmen's Tennis is a free 5-week academic and enrichment program for BPS students to help stem summer learning loss. Summer Learning offers a balance of academic support and enrichment that includes science, fitness and fields trips. Summer Learning at Sportsmen's aims to provide students with a holistic, challenging and enjoyable atmosphere that prepares them for school and beyond.

The STEAM Ahead Summer Learning Academy, in partnership with the Hurley School, is a free five-week summer program for Boston Public Schools students entering grades 2-4. Students engage in hands-on learning that blends English and Spanish language development with math, science, and creative STEAM projects. Through collaborative activities, field trips, health and wellness programming, and social-emotional learning, students explore their interests, strengthen academic skills, and build confidence while learning alongside peers in a fun, supportive, and culturally responsive environment.

The Summer Early Focus program builds on children's learning with fun, child-centered activities. Each classroom has up to 20 students and two Boston Public Schools teachers using our Summer Early Focus curriculum. We serve students in grades K0 through 2nd grade.

Children take part in hands-on learning, field trips, and both structured and free play. They enjoy dance and physical education classes, meet special visitors who connect to their learning, and explore the neighborhood on walking field trips.

Summer Early Focus helps children grow in thinking, creativity, teamwork, social skills, and self-control, all while having a joyful summer of learning!

TEEP centers identity, voice, and belonging, helping young people grow academically and personally all summer long.

Warren-Prescott Bridging Academics & STEAM is a hands-on summer program where learning comes alive. Students explore science inquiry, engineering, art, and a unique Farm-to-Table science experience, while strengthening core ELA and math skills to prevent summer learning loss. Through creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem solving, students are empowered to think like engineers, inventors, scientists, and artists?and to imagine how their ideas can make the world a better place.

WEH SLA is a fun, supportive summer experience for rising 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders in our vibrant Allston-Brighton facility. Mornings include engaging reading, math, and STEM projects like designing rockets and solving real-world challenges. Each week, students enjoy exciting field trips that bring learning to life. In the afternoons, students choose from programs like Swim, Soccer Clinic, Fashion Design Club, DIY STEM, or Book Club. With healthy meals and snacks provided and caring staff who truly value each child, West End House is a safe, joyful community where young people feel seen, celebrated, and excited to learn every day.

YMCA SLA at Camp Ponkapoag offers a special opportunity for urban youth to experience a fully outdoor summer camp at Blue Hills Reservation. Campers learn in experiential outdoor classrooms and participate in specialized activities such as swimming, ropes courses, archery, outdoor education, arts, and sports all while surrounded by the natural beauty of a protected setting. 

This program provides children ages 8-12 with meaningful access to nature, hands-on learning, and new adventures. Along the way, campers build social skills, strengthen friendships, and develop confidence through shared experiences that foster belonging and achievement.

Serving children ages 5-12, YMCA SLA East Boston is a school-based summer program centered on academic development, friendships, belonging, and play. Students participate in a dynamic weekly schedule of hands-on activities designed to build confidence and spark curiosity. Beyond morning academics, activities may include swimming, art, dance, science exploration, team-building challenges, healthy living activities, and character development. 

YMCA SLA East Boston provides a safe, inclusive environment where youth can discover new interests, strengthen friendships, stay active, and create lasting summer memories all while building skills that support success during the school year and beyond.
