Summer Learning Academies

Summer Learning Academies encompass a broad range of comprehensive academic and enrichment programs for thousands of BPS students every year. These programs are intentionally designed by BPS schools to ensure that all students are able to participate in high quality and engaging activities to build social, emotional and academic skills during the summer months.

Community Based Programs

BPS works with a wide range of community-based organizations to provide an expanded menu of enrichment opportunities to BPS students including arts, athletics, STEM, cultural programming and more. Learn more about past and current programs developed in partnership with Boston After School and Beyond.

Course Completion and High School Credit Recovery

Course Completion/Credit Recovery programming is designed to support BPS students in grades 6-12 who need to recover credit and lost learning from the past school year. In 2025, 33 schools offered credit recovery opportunities during the summer, supporting over 1800 students in recovering 2,267 academic credits.
