Mary Driscoll joined the School Superintendent Team as Elementary School Superintendent on July 1, 2019.
Most recently the BPS Associate Superintendent for Elementary and Middle Schools, Mary has extensive experience with BPS, which included serving as Assistant Superintendent, Instructional Superintendent, and Principal of the Thomas Edison K-8 School in Brighton. As principal of Edison, she led a school transformation effort that merged two underperforming elementary schools with her middle school to form a K-8 with a full arts program including drama, music, and visual arts instruction for all 800 students. Mary started her education career as a middle school teacher in New York City and joined BPS in July 1997. Mary resides in Roslindale and is the proud parent of two BPS graduates, one of whom is now a BPS dual language teacher. She is a graduate of Cornell University with a master’s degree in Math and Science Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
