Marjorie Soto

MS Marjorie Soto became an Elementary School Superintendent on July 1, 2019. From 2005-2019, Marjorie was the principal of the Joseph Hurley K-8 Dual Language School in the South End, which educates all students in English and Spanish.

During her leadership of Hurley, Marjorie empowered her staff to help students through using real-time data, focusing on culturally and linguistically sustaining practices, expanding the use of academic interventions, and forming partnerships with families and community organizations. Soto previously worked as a principal of a public high school focused on international studies in Providence, Rhode Island; and as a bilingual coach and teacher, among other roles, for nine years in the Philadelphia public school district.
