Jonathan Palumbo serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Communications and Public Affairs.
He has two decades of experience working in a variety of roles in public education and policy. Prior to returning to Boston Public Schools, he led communications and external affairs at local nonprofits where he focused on partnerships with elected and public officials, community leaders, and the press, at The Possible Project and City Year Boston. Earlier in his career, Jonathan was Communications Director at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Education where he worked closely with the Governor and Secretary of Education to advance policy and reform initiatives across primary, secondary, and higher education. Jonathan previously worked in the Superintendent’s office at the Boston Public Schools on strategic communications and public affairs and led media relations for the Commissioner at the Massachusetts Department of Education.
