Time and Effort

All employees charged to federal grants must maintain time and effort reporting. Time and effort reporting requirements are noted in 2 CFR 200.430 "Compensation - Personal Services." 

BPS has adapted this requirement to fit within the BPS and City needs. In BPS, there are two types of required time and effort records: general semi-annual certifications and detailed monthly reports. The type of record that must be kept is based on the job responsibilities of the individual charged to the grant. 
  • Any individual who works on multiple cost-objectives must submit monthly reports
  • Any individual who work on one single cost-objective must submit semi-annual reports
