Dec 7: DP History students discuss social movements around the world
Over the semester, the Harvard Program for International Education (HPIE) partnered with Ms. Samadi's 11th and 12th grade DP history classes to embark on weekly case study analysis discussions on social movements around the world. At the end of the semester on HPIE invited JQ students to their campus for a full day of discussion sessions with other high schools (Quincy HS, North Quincy HS, Newton North HS, Boston Latin School, the International School of Boston, and Excel Academy Charter HS.). JQUS students did an amazing job presenting hypothetical constitutions for governments and protests for different social movements they were passionate about.
In addition, senior Richard Chen won first place for his essay on the Yellow Vest Movement in France. Congratulations!
