Celtics

Boston Public Schools is grateful for its longstanding relationship with the Boston Celtics (25+ years).

This year, kindergarten through fifth grade students in Higginson/Lewis, Tynan, Channing, Taylor, King, Chittick, Harvard/Kent, Curtis Guild, and Winship schools participated in the annual Read to Achieve initiative (sponsored in part by InvestBPS partner Houghton Mifflin Harcourt). Students were rewarded with individual incentives and opportunities to win school assemblies with Celtics players.

Celtics Stay in School event

The Celtics' Stay in School Program, presented by the Arbella Insurance Foundation, is the longest running educational initiative in all of American Professional Sports. The program works to improve the attendance in the Boston Public School system and increase student engagement with incentive-based prizes in the form of school-wide assemblies.

In our first year celebrating Educators of the Year under Superintendent Chang and Mayor Walsh, the Celtics brought our 7 honorees courtside during the final regular season home game, to recognize them for their hard work and dedication to our students.
