    MAYOR MICHELLE WU ANNOUNCES 10 NEW RAISED-BED GARDEN CLASSROOMS

    Mayor Michelle Wu, joined Superintendent Mary Skipper, Chief of Housing Sheila Dillon, and Boston Public Schools (BPS) students and staff to commemorate the launch of 10 new raised bed garden programs in various Boston Public Schools across the City. Additionally, they celebrated the grand opening of a new outdoor classroom at Boston Green Academy.

    LOCAL ELECTED OFFICIALS, BOSTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS & IQHQ CUT RIBBON ON NEW STEM LABS AT BRIGHTON HIGH SCHOOL

    Massachusetts state Representatives Kevin Honan and Michael Moran, Boston City Councilor Liz Breadon, Head of School Andrew Bott, and representatives from IQHQ cut the ribbon on five new STEM labs at Brighton High School. The STEM labs feature $3M in new equipment, electrical upgrades, and furniture that will help create new pathways to STEM careers and benefit Brighton High School students for years to come.

    BOSTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS OFFERS MEALS AT NO COST FOR STUDENTS

    Boston Public Schools will be participating in the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. As part of this program, all schools will offer healthy meals every school day at NO COST to the students due to the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision for school year 2023-2024. Students will be able to get breakfast and lunch at school without having to pay a fee or submit a household application.

    MAYOR MICHELLE WU ANNOUNCES R.E.A.C.H. 1000 MENTORING PROGRAM

    Mayor Michelle Wu announced the launch of R.E.A.C.H. 1000, a collaborative effort among the The Mayor's Office of Black Male Advancement, the Boston Public Schools (BPS) Division of Student Support, and My Brother's Keeper Boston to strengthen mentoring programs across BPS and support youth development. The purpose of the program is to develop a high quality, high impact mentoring that elevates and guides the next generation of leaders in the city of Boston.
