What could Practitioner-Led Professional Development look like?
- Facilitators have knowledge, skills and experience with the practices and concepts that the PD is designed to teach. This may include parents/families and members of the community.
A school uses the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system to manage behavioral expectations of students. When new teachers come to the school, they are given a two-day training on using PBIS instructional strategies in the classroom. The PD is taught by former teachers who successfully implemented PBIS in their classrooms and draws upon their experiences to shape instruction of the training.What are some tools I can use to develop Practitioner-Led Professional Development?
