The Boston School Committee

The Boston School Committee is the governing body of the Boston Public Schools. The School Committee is responsible for:

  • Defining the vision, mission, and goals of the Boston Public Schools;

  • Establishing and monitoring the annual operating budget;

  • Hiring, managing, and evaluating the Superintendent; and

  • Setting and reviewing district policies and practices to support student achievement.

The agenda, Zoom link, and public comment sign-up will be posted here 48 hours before the meeting.

Public Comment: Public Comment will close at 4:30 p.m. on the meeting day. Written testimony may be submitted to lparvex@bostonpublicschools.org. Virtual speakers must unmute and turn on their camera. Speakers should begin by stating their name, affiliation, and neighborhood, and must sign into Zoom using exactly the same name they used to register for public comment.

Interpretation: Simultaneous interpretation is available in: Spanish, Cabo Verdean, Haitian Creole, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and ASL. To request other languages, email lparvex@bostonpublicschools.org at least seven (7) days before the meeting. 

A video recording will be posted on the City of Boston's YouTube channel and at bostonpublicschools.org/schoolcommittee.
