Newcomers Academy, a program of Boston International High School, welcomes English language learners ages 15–18 who are entering the United States school system for the first time and who have limited English proficiency, or who have gaps in their formal education. 

We work with these students to design a personalized plan so that they are informed and prepared to choose a district high school program. Students will receive ESL and mathematics, science, and social studies instruction in sheltered English. They may spend from a few months to two years in the program. Newcomers Academy also offers career counseling, orientation to American culture, and after school activities.
