Kindergarten Assessments
Assessment in Focus on K2 is rooted in thoughtful observation of children and looking closely at the work they produce and the skills they demonstrate. FoK2 assessment fosters a cultural shift from assessment of learning to assessment for learning. Learn more here.
Report Card
Report Cards help facilitate growth through documentation and observation. They are recommended for all K2 students. The Rubric offers guidance for using documentation to complete the Progress Report. Please refer to the BPS District Report Card Schedule for key dates. Note that Kindergarten students are not required to receive a Fall report card - this reporting period is optional.
All K2 Progress Report data should be entered into Aspen. You can use the quick Aspen/SIS Gradebook Cheat Sheet for support, or follow the full K0-K2 Grading Instructions (for BPS only). K2 Progress Report translations are available in this folder.
If you notice missing documents, misplaced information, or any other errors on the website, please fill out this form to notify the Department of Early Childhood. We’ll review your submission and fix the issue as soon as possible.
