Q & A About the Student Information System

    • What is the BPS Student Information System?

The student information system (SIS) is Boston Public School's home to all information about your child or children. No matter what BPS school they attend, you are able to access the SIS for each child through one log in. You can see your enrollment choices, your wait list information, class grades, attendance, and information regarding assessments and conduct.

    • How do I create an account on the SIS?

In order to create an account, you need an access code. You can request an access code from the school or request it directly from your child's homeroom teacher. You only need one account to see all your children at all BPS schools. Once you get the access code,  follow the instructions to the right in the quick links to set up the account. You will need a valid email address, preferably one that you use often.

    • What if I already set up an account last year?

If you already set up your account last year, you can use your login information from last year to access current student information.

    • What if I forgot my SIS password?

If you forgot your password, you can request that your password be reset by contacting your child's homeroom teacher. Once the password is reset an email will be sent to your account you used to set up the SIS account.
       OR
You can go to the SIS site and click on the "reset my password" link. Enter the login id which is the email address you used to create the account. (The login id and primary email will be the same information.) Enter this information and a password reset email will be sent to your email account.

    • What if I have an account but can't remember my login id?

Your login id is the email account that you used to set up your SIS account. If you can't remember what this account was, you can contact your child's homeroom teacher and they can provide you with this information.  All parent login information will be the email address you originally used to set up the account. If you are not sure if you have an account, you can contact your child's homeroom teacher.
