2019 Community Engagement Tour
-
Boston Public Schools (BPS) Superintendent Brenda Cassellius will spend the next few months meeting with students, families, staff, district partners and community members to gather input to help develop a strategic plan that will guide the work of the district over the next three school years.
The community tour will be guided by the following values:
- BPS will focus on obtaining feedback from the many diverse communities we serve, particularly historically marginalized populations;
- BPS will collect information and feedback to develop shared values, goals and priorities;
- BPS will affirm and reflect community voices in the district’s strategic plan and FY21 budget process.
Over the course of the community engagement tour, Superintendent Cassellius and her executive team will visit all BPS schools, host 32 community meetings, and connect with community members at numerous events.
The community will play a critical role in the development of the district’s values, goals and strategy that will ensure a high-quality educational experience for every student that walks through the doors of BPS schools.
The Community Tour will consist of the following public meetings. All are welcome!
School Parent Council Meetings
All BPS parents are members of their school parent councils. Regardless of where your student attends school, all parents and families are welcome to join Superintendent Cassellius for a School Parent Council meeting that is most convenient for you.
Community Meetings
Parents, community members, teachers, staff and students are invited to join Superintendent Cassellius for neighborhood specific town hall-style community meetings. Community meetings will include refreshments, childcare and translation services as needed.
Community Conversations
Superintendent Cassellius is hosting community conversation meetings in partnership with grassroots organizations and committees that serve specific populations within BPS to discuss their community’s unique needs and expand collaboration.
