Office of External Affairs
The Office of External Affairs (OEA) is designed to ensure the district is able to bring philanthropic resources to its 56,000 students, families, teachers and administrators. Our core belief is that equity is at the cornerstone of
Who We Are
We support system-level priorities that will bring equity, coherence and innovation to our schools and offer learning to our students, teachers and families that ensure appropriate skill sets for the successful interaction with the work, play, living and dreams we see in the 21st century.
The OEA emphasizes the strength of relationships, transparency and accountability. Investment into our district is valued no matter if it is financial, service-related, or skills-based volunteering. We know that time, treasure and talent are what will bring our students into the City of Boston and the city into our classrooms. The City of Boston is our Classroom.
What We Do
We are in service to the district by driving donated time, treasure (monetary), and talent (skills-based support) towards key innovative initiatives by engaging corporate and foundation partners.
The work of the OEA can be thought of in five categories:
- Corporate Engagement
- Foundation Engagement
- Community Engagement
- System-wide Investments
- Engagement Campaigns
