Back to School Tips for Students

  • Have a plan how you will get safely to and from school.

    If you are taking the T, know your routes. Practice. See if you can find friends to travel with you.
     

    Practice using an alarm clock.

    It doesn’t have to be fancy. Start depending on yourself to get up. Get plenty of rest each night.
     

    Put all your school supplies in once place.

    Remember to double check your supply lists. 
     

    Eat breakfast and lunch.

    Always start your school days off with a healthy breakfast to get you through the day until lunch. 
     

    Create a clear space somewhere to do homework.

    It doesn’t have to be a desk, but it should be clean and a little bit away from TV and other distractions.
     

    Make sure you have completed any summer assignments and put in a separate folder.

     

    Label your supplies.

     

    Think positively!

    A new school year is a new chance to make great things happen, to see old friends and make new ones.
    Get involved in school activities.
     

    Participate in after school activities.

     

    The first day, make a plan to sit with at least one friend or person you know at lunch.
