BTU School Site Council Resources

The School Site Council (SSC) plays a critical role in hiring of staff, reviews and advises  on the budget, and can waive the provision of the collective bargaining agreement or any School Committee rule regulation. BPS and BTU hosts a series of trainings on School Site Councils and you can register here. Parents can also get more SSC resources here.

What is the CPC?

Made up entirely of current BPS parent/caregiver volunteers, the Citywide Parent Council (CPC) of Boston Public Schools is the official voice of all our 38,000 families. The CPC is the umbrella organization of each of our 125 schools’ School Parent Councils (SPCs), and we are constituted by the elected representatives from each of our schools. We advocate as one voice for all of our of students and their families.

Information on the School Assignment Process

Are you a current or prospective Boston Public Schools parent/caregiver and would like information on the school assignment process?

The fall is a great time to start researching and visiting the schools on your home-based list. Preregistration begins in December and registration begins in January.


Free 24/7 Tutoring for BPS Students

BPS has partnered with Paper, a tutoring platform with a mission to empower every student to reach their highest potential. Paper will provide unlimited, 24/7 tutoring to all students. Learn more about it here.
