Student Leadership @ BCLA
BCLA is dedicated to the whole student, and we provide meaningful leadership programming, both during and after school, to develop our current students into tomorrow’s leaders. In addition, we foster strong ties with many community partners who work with our students in various capacities.
Office of Student Leadership & Service
Provides 360° leadership support to BCLA students during and after school hours. Through in-school enrichment programs and advanced community service and internship opportunities, this office provides all around leadership support for our emerging leaders, as well as the faculty and staff they engage with on a daily basis.

BCLA Leadership Scholars Program
The Leadership Scholars Program is an in-school, year long intensive civics and leadership program that works with some of BCLA’s most promising student leaders. Probing some of the most essential questions in the field of leadership, this course provides a foundational exploration of community leadership, ethics/advocacy, and 21st century leadership skills.
Community Service & Leadership Enrichment
BCLA provides all students with access to quality community service opportunities, college readiness assistance, and leadership enrichment programs. All BCLA students are required to complete 100 community service hours prior to graduation, and BCLA offers an after school service and enrichment program that coordinates groups service projects to help students accomplish this goal.
Some of the organizations we have worked with so far this year are: The Greater Boston Food Bank, Community Servings, Room to Grow, Sportsmen’s Tennis & Enrichment, Orchard Gardens Pilot School Food bank, Cradles to Crayons, Ethos and many more!
Please contact Darrell Anane for any questions regarding community service opportunities and after school enrichment programs. Darellbcla@gmail.com
Community Days at BCLA
BCLA host 8 Community Days per academic year. On two of these dates the entire BCLA community leaves the building to complete community service projects across the city. And on the remaining days the entire BCLA community comes together for a school wide conference where we explore a topic with some of Boston’s most progressive and youth-focused organizations.
