BPS Summer Programming 2026

Boston Public Schools is excited to offer students and families an enriching summer experience through a variety of programming options.

  • 5th Quarter Summer is a citywide collection of high-quality programs that combine academic support with hands-on enrichment, career exploration, and just plain fun. From elementary to high school, there's something for every learner. Explore a wide range of free summer opportunities including camps, learning academies, sailing, dance, visual arts, and more! Whether your student wants to catch up, get ahead, or try something new, this is the summer to do it.
  • FutureBOS Youth Summer Employment: The City of Boston and the Private Industry Council open doors to real-world job experiences, career pathways, and meaningful mentorship. futureBOS connects Boston youth ages 14-24 to a variety of unique job opportunities across all neighborhoods at nonprofits, community-based organizations, and city agencies.
  • Extended School Year (ESY) programming provides students services as outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP). ESY programming is designed to prevent substantial learning regression and to ensure maintenance of key skills. The Office of Specialized Services will contact families of students with disabilities who are eligible for ESY programming.
  • Exam School Initiative (ESI) programming is an invitation-only, four-week summer course designed to help students prepare for the opportunity to apply for any of Boston’s three prestigious exam schools. The ESI Program team will contact families of students who are eligible to participate.
