Voluntary iDECIDE Substance Use Prevention (Tier 2)

Our in-person program is voluntary, not for students who have been suspendedStudents must be marked as present in ASPEN.

Grades 6-12: Succeed Boston, in partnership with Mass General Hospital's Center for Addiction Medicine, provides a 2-day in-person program for students who have been identified by school staff for additional support in managing their substance use.

iDECIDE (Drug Education Curriculum: Intervention, Diversion, and Empowerment) is a drug education curriculum providing behavioral support and psychoeducation for students.

Students must attend Friday (day 1) in order to attend Monday (day 2). If they miss day 1, they cannot attend until the following week. The schedule will be based on grade level:

  • Middle School: 1st & 3rd Friday 
  • High School: 2nd & 4th Friday

 

This program will provide:

  • Introductory lessons on how substances impact the mind and body
  • Skills to make better decisions regarding substance use
  • A plan to identify a trusted adult at school who will follow up on the students' goal
  • Ongoing consultations, support, and resources with school staff/SST
