The partners of 24/7 Respect are a diverse group of local, state, and national associations and organizations who are dedicated to the work of ending bias and sexual misconduct in schools.  

 

AAAED

The American Association for Access, Equity, and Diversity is a national, not-for-profit association of professionals working in areas of equal opportunity, compliance, and diversity. AAAED has 45 years of leadership in providing professional training to members by equipping them to be more successful and productive in their careers. It also promotes understanding and advocacy for affirmative action and other equal opportunity and related compliance laws and regulations to enhance the diversity tenets of access, inclusion, and equality in employment, economic, and educational opportunities. Their tag line is, "Advocate. Educate. Activate."

 

 

ADL

 

 

"ADL New England is proud to support the 24/7 Respect Program. ADL's Education Department provides educational programs, training, and resources for grades PreK-12 and college/university settings. ADL's anti-bias and bullying prevention programs assist educators and students in understanding and challenging bias and building ally behaviors. ADL's work in confronting anti-Semitism empowers young people with constructive responses to combat anti-Semitism. 

 

AFT MASS

 

The American Federation of Teachers is a union of professionals that champions fairness; democracy; economic opportunity; and high-quality public education, healthcare, and public services for our students, their families, and our communities. We are committed to advancing these principles through community engagement, organizing, collective bargaining and political activism, and especially through the work our members do.

BSAC advocates for and protects the voices of students in BPS by empowering the student body to express their opinions regarding education reform and ensuring that students are included in decision and policy-making that impacts their lives and educational experiences.

The Boston Teachers Union is the exclusive collective bargaining agent for the school system's 10,000 teachers, other non-administrative, professional employees, paraprofessionals, and substitute teachers. They also represent 2, 600 retirees.

The mission of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association is to serve member schools and the maximum number of their students by providing leadership and support for the conduct of interscholastic athletics which will enrich the educational experiences of all participants. 

 

 

MSAA

 

"The Massachusetts School Administrators' Association (MSAA) and the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) is pleased to support the Boston Public Schools and the Boston Public Schools Office of Equity in their efforts to help reduce bias and sexual misconduct within schools through their 24/7 Respect program. The resources available in this program provide components to assist educators in having thoughtful, productive, respectful and needed discussions and conversations about reducing bias and sexual misconduct within schools. The inclusion of lesson objectives, appropriate vocabulary, guiding questions, realistic video scenarios and self-reflection in the 24/7 Respect program enhances the authenticity of understanding why a program such as this is invaluable to all individuals in all schools. Thank you to the Boston Public Schools for empowering students to learn and know how to prevent and address bias-based and sexual misconduct. This is a program that is worthy of all school systems to embrace and include in their curriculum."

Youth on Board

 

 Since 1994, Youth on Board has been a leader in the field of youth organizing in the Boston area and beyond. YOB is a youth-led, adult supported organization where young people of color have the space and tools to recognize and utilize the power they hold to dismantle political and economic structures that reinforce inequity. YOB believes in the power of students to transform their communities by recognizing that when young people are fully engaged-when their voices are heard, their opinions matter and their unique perspective is respected-they commit themselves to making their schools, their communities, and their own lives better.
