How can my child borrow a Chromebook for use at home?
Please reach out to your child's school if they need access to a Chromebook at home for educational purposes. This Chromebook lending program is voluntary and all students are eligible as long as they lack access to a computer at home, are actively enrolled in a BPS school, and adhere to the BPS Acceptable Use Policy.

Where can I find free/low cost internet?
- Affordable Connectivity Program: Up to a $30/month discount on broadband internet services for eligible households. For additional information, call (877)-384-2575 or visit https://acpbenefit.org/.
- Comcast Internet Essentials: Low cost broadband internet ($9.95/month). For additional information, visit internetessentials.com.
- T-Mobile Project 10Million: A BPS-provided hotspot with 100GB/year of data. Please connect with your child's school if a hotspot is needed at home for remote learning.

What do I do with technology if my child is leaving BPS?
Technology loaned out to students belongs to the Boston Public Schools. Please return technology, including charging cables, to your child's school prior to your child's last day. Chromebooks will be disabled after your child’s departure from BPS, rendering it unusable. Technology not returned to BPS significantly affects our ability to support BPS children. Thank you in advance for your efforts in returning technology.

Technology loaned out to students must be returned to the school it came from. Please return technology, including charging cables, to your child's school prior to your child's last day. Chromebooks will be disabled after your child’s departure from the school, rendering it unusable. Technology not returned to that school significantly affects their ability to support BPS children. What do I do if my child’s Chromebook is damaged?
If your child is using an Access4All @ HOME Chromebook (there is a logo etched onto the top of the device), please follow the instructions below (click here for instructions in other languages). Families/Students can initiate this repair process on their own.
- CALL ACER: For help fixing a damaged Chromebook, please call Acer's Student Assist Hotline at (877) 240-2237. They are open 24/7 and can support English, French, and Spanish speakers. Please have the Chromebook in-hand before calling for help.
- MAIL IT OUT: Acer will mail you a shipping box and label free of charge. Place the Chromebook inside the labeled box and drop it off at a FedEx location. Click here to find the closest FedEx drop-off location.
- GET IT BACK: Acer will fix the Chromebook and mail it back within 5-7 working days after receipt. They'll send an email when it's repaired and ready to be mailed back to you. FedEx will not deliver or leave a package without a signature.
If your child is using a Chromebook that DOES NOT have a logo etched onto the top of the device, please return the Chromebook to your child's school where they can initiate the repair process.

What do I do if my child's Chromebook is lost or stolen?

What can I do if my child’s password isn’t working?
