Meet the Coordinators of Special Education

People talking at a gathering

The Coordinator of Special Education plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation and coordination of special education programs in Boston Public Schools. Serving as a key liaison between educators, administrators, and families, the coordinator is responsible for chairing the team meetings and  overseeing the development and execution of individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans for students with diverse learning needs. They collaborate with teachers to facilitate the integration of specialized support services, such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and counseling, into the overall educational framework. Additionally, the coordinator works closely with parents to foster open communication and collaboration, ensuring that the unique requirements of each student are understood and met. Monitoring compliance with legal mandates and staying abreast of best practices in special education, the Coordinator of Special Education plays a crucial role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers every student to reach their full academic potential.

You may click on the "All Locations" dropdown to select your student's school or click on the Coordinator of Special Education below for additional information.
