Science, Technology & Engineering (STE)

The STE Vision

Every BPS student at every grade engages in culturally affirming high-quality science experiences. They will graduate to become critical and capable citizens who make informed decisions about the challenges that confront society.

Mission:

A strong foundation in science begins with providing a clear vision for curricular excellence and the high-quality instructional materials and training needed to bring it to life. The Boston Public Schools Science & Engineering Department is committed to fostering a transformative learning experience for all students, empowering them to develop a strong science identity through meaningful exploration of natural phenomena.

Over the next 3-5 years, we will diligently work towards achieving our vision through the following key goals: Curricular Excellence, Alignment and Coherence, Quality Instructional Materials, Materials Center Fulfillment, Professional Learning for Educators, Science Literacy, Equitable Access and Inclusive Practices, and Family and Community Engagement.
