High-Quality Student Experience

Boston Public Schools envisions a district where every student has access to the services they need and the experiences they want, providing an academic foundation for a High-Quality Student Experience.

Our Inclusive Education Plan is our roadmap to build an immersive, multicultural environment, fostering connection over exclusion for students. We will shift our current practices so all schools can provide every student with the appropriate and individualized support they need to be successful.

The diversity of our students is our greatest strength. Students do best when they are surrounded by others who have different life experiences, abilities, and cultures.

As we build for the future, we are working together to ensure all schools can deliver on the high quality student experience all our Boston Public Schools students deserve.

For this school year we are focused on some key priorities to improve the student experience:

  • Implement Inclusive Education for all students by focusing on Equitable Literacy
Equitable literacy deeply intersects with closing the opportunity and achievement gaps, access to high quality instructional materials, differentiated learning using multi-tiered systems of support and materials that reflect racial, cultural, and linguistic diversity of our students and world. • Reduce Chronic Absenteeism
While school absenteeism rates soared across the state and country during the pandemic, the Boston Public Schools' work to combat chronic absenteeism in the district has begun to yield positive results, with a 7% decline in chronic absenteeism across the district, with even bigger gains for students of color and students with disabilities. • Strengthen college and career pathways

Boston Public Schools offers a wide array of career and technical education opportunities so students can compete for high-paying jobs in a variety of fields. LEARN MORE
