Join us for a step-by-step baking demonstration of “Never-Fail Biscuits.” While your biscuits are in the oven, Museum educators and a USS Constitution sailor will share the secrets of the biscuits sailors were eating daily onboard in 1812. What’s the difference between our modern biscuits and these historical ship biscuits? Join us to find out!
All participants will receive a recipe, dough scraper, activity book, and coupon for flour ahead of the program. Space is limited, so please register now for the virtual program. After completing registration, you will receive an email with further information and the Zoom link for the meeting.
Friday, April 22, from 2:00-4:00 pm for students ages 10 and up.
George Washington puts you to the test. Our first President authorized the construction of the USS Constitution. Can your family design and build a winning warship? Learn about the ship’s unique design and construction. You’ll tour the ship and then complete your own challenge: build a ship from household materials that is both strong and fast, like “Old Ironsides.” We’ll race the ships and declare a victor.
This program costs $5.00 per child (ages 10-18) and $10.00 per adult (ages 18+). Program fees include admission to the Museum before the program. Questions? Contact us at teachered@usscm.org.
