BOSTON, MA - DECEMBER 5, 2025 -The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Women's Network selected Superintendent Mary Skipper as one of the 2026 Pinnacle Awards honorees for Achievement in Management – Government. The annual Pinnacle Awards are one of the region's highest professional distinctions for women leaders, recognizing their achievements in business, government, and management. This prestigious award recognizes Superintendent Skipper's leadership and her commitment to building a stronger, more equitable school district for Boston's students, families, and educators.

"It is an honor to be recognized alongside so many remarkable women leaders who are shaping the future of our region," said Superintendent Mary Skipper. "It takes a village to support our school communities and this award reflects the dedication of our educators, staff, families, and partners who work every day to uplift our students. Since her selection by the Boston School Committee in 2022, Superintendent Skipper has championed transformative initiatives to modernize school facilities, expand multilingual education, strengthen pathways from school to career, and ensure that every student receives a high-quality education in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment.

Superintendent Sipper will be recognized at the 2026 Pinnacle Awards Ceremony on January 30, 2026, where more than 1,200 business, civic, and community leaders will gather to celebrate this year's honorees.

Chapter 74 Admissions

Chapter 74 Career & Technical Education (CTE) Programs offer in-depth occupational training which prepares students for college and high demand, high skill careers.

Students in Chapter 74 Programs:

Receive training required for entry-level employment in an in-demand career field
Spend 900+ hours engaged in technical training; achieve a safety and industry certification; and may earn credit toward college or an apprenticeship program
Engage in "Co-Op" or internship experiences with local employers
Learn key technical knowledge and skills that follow MA State Frameworks developed in partnership with industry
Are taught by teachers with extensive industry experience
Participate in college and career planning through the MyCAP process

If your child is interested in applying to a Chapter 74 program for Grade 9:

Families of current BPS students should complete the application linked below for the school that is of interest to their student. Families should also rank the school that they have selected on their BPS school choice form during the upcoming Registration and Assignment period.
Families of students in non-BPS schools should use Great Starts to register for BPS, rank the schools that are of interest to your student, and complete the individual school application linked below.
All Families will receive their assignment notification by the end of March 2026.
