Dr. Pauline Lugira White

School Superintendent Region 7 (Grades K-12)

Pauline Lugira White has worked for 22 years as a passionate educator compelled to support student achievement and currently serves as School Superintendent for Region 7. Following extensive cross-sector experience, she began her teaching career in Boston Public Schools in 2008.

As a school leader, teacher and mentor, she has impacted the lives of BPS students in the Grove Hall neighborhood of Boston for over a decade. Most recently, she was the principal of the Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School. Throughout her career, Pauline has designed curriculum and developed programming aimed at transformational teaching and learning.

Dr. Lugira White’s work has been focused on supporting achievement outcomes for diverse learners through Equitable Literacy practices. This work has resulted in consistent reading growth across grade levels over 3 years. In addition, she has been able to recruit and retain diverse staff that represent the cultural and linguistic diversity of the community. As a leadership coach and mentor, she has inspired teachers and administrators across Boston Public Schools to pursue further leadership opportunities. Through the change management process, she has worked closely with stakeholder groups to ensure that students and families are elevated and centered through the decision-making process. As a veteran autonomous school leader, Pauline successfully collaborated with the greater Frederick community to leverage pilot autonomies, strengthening school culture over the span of 8 years. She is an innovative leader with expertise in creating inclusive communities.

Dr. Lugira White has an undergraduate degree from Boston College, she completed her leadership preparation as a principal fellow through the Lynch Leadership Academy. She holds a doctorate in education from the Lynch School of Education at Boston College.
