TranslateLive ILA Devices
The dual-sided ILA Pro enables real-time communication in over 120 languages and dialects, making it a perfect solution for those who speak different languages or have different communication abilities. You can simply speak or type onto the device, and the text will appear instantly in the chosen language of both users. The device is accurate, encrypted, and supports access for those who are deaf, hard of hearing, low vision, blind or deaf-blind. Moreover, the two-sided devices' real-time translation feature allows you to verify the accuracy of the conversation as it is seen and/or voiced on both screens.

* Please review the BPS TranslateLive ILA Pro Device Policy, which provides information on how to access the service along with usage parameters and restrictions.
Note: This service is not a substitute for in-person interpreters supporting Special Education Meetings, which include but are not limited to IEP, assessment, and evaluation-type meetings - unless prior written parent/guardian consent is received. See OLAS Telephonic Interpretation Service Consent Form

When NOT to Use The TranslateLIve Device - Usage Requirements*
- The ILA Pro device cannot substitute for interpreters during Special Education-related meetings, including IEPs, assessments, and other similar gatherings that mandate the presence of an interpreter. Any attempt to substitute a live interpreter with this device in such cases is strictly prohibited.
- The ILA Pro device should not be used for certain General Education-related meetings, such as discipline hearings and suspensions, when substantial oral translation of documentation/information is required, and in other scenarios where an interpreter is warranted.
- The device should not be used in place of staff in providing regular educational programs, activities, or services.
When to Use TranslateLive ILA Device - Usage Requirement*
- The device is particularly appropriate when a matter is routine and doesn’t require substantial oral translation of documentation.
- When no trained, professional interpreter is available in person for routine General Education specific matters.
- An undue delay will be avoided by using the device instead of an on-site interpreter or other district available language assistance services. (Special Education matters are strictly prohibited unless otherwise authorized).
