• The Division of Equity Strategy and Opportunity Gaps in collaboration with the Division of Academics and the Office of Multilingual and Multicultural Education are planning two very important initiatives that will aim to capture and celebrate the importance of LatinX/Hispanic Heritage Month, occurring October 13-14

    LatinX/Hispanic Heritage Committee:

This is extremely important work and it is critical that we incorporate all perspectives and bring them all together to the table. Participation to join this committee is entirely open from anyone to join. Here is the sign up sheet. We are inviting our many BPS audiences to help us plan this celebration, including but not limited to:

    ● Students

    ● School Superintendents

    ● Community Members

    ● School Committee Members

    ● Schools Leaders

    ● Parents and Caretakers

    Schools:

The Office of Opportunity Gaps will collaborate with the Division of Academics and BPS Executive Director for the Arts Tony Beatrice to help create a rich and informational slide deck and instructional activities that really captures the deep historical context of LatinX/Hispanic representation. The slide deck and instructional activities will aim to highlight and affirm historical and foundational principles of LatinX/Hispanic Heritage Month.
