Riding the Bus - Key Things to Know
As we look forward to welcoming students back onto our school buses, here are a few friendly reminders for students and families:
-
Transportation assignments for all families were sent by mail and email on the last week of August.
- Please help make sure that your child is able to be quickly supported in the event they become separate from their correct school bus/school by sending your child on the bus with a note that includes the following information:
- Student name
- Student school & guide
- Primary language
- Emergency contact information (working phone number)
-
Please make sure all of your child’s belongings are labeled with their first and last name. This will also help any lost belongings get back to you and is helpful as teachers and staff are meeting new students. This is also especially important for student safety, especially for younger children.
-
Please have your child ready for the bus at their assigned pickup location ten minutes before the stated pickup time. Please also be prepared for bus delays. If you would like to know where your child’s bus is in real time, check out Where’s My School Bus online at schoolbus.bostonpublicschools.org.
-
