The Department of Global Education supports global competence development for students through field experiences, and international programming that aligns with, and enriches teaching and learning. Our aim is to increase access to meaningful and safe international travel for all BPS students, in an effort to prepare and elevate students for college, career, and life in our interdependent world.

The impact of global learning and study abroad on secondary students is profound, and should be viewed as a long-lasting social and academic intervention. Study abroad has been reported to deepen core competencies associated with social and emotional learning, such as self-confidence, motivation, and discipline. Study abroad increases students’ engagement in learning, their aspirations for college, language learning, and future study abroad experiences. BPS students are worthy of, and  deserve to have increased access to such experiences.
