Nurtury Tremont Street was established in 1969 and has grown to be one of the largest center-based child care programs in Boston. Uniquely situated at the border of the South End and Chinatown, it serves 112 (birth to five years old) who reside in the surrounding neighborhoods of Chinatown, Dorchester, Roxbury, and the South End. The program offers a robust education program that develops children’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language skills. Children who are second language learners are given equal opportunities to succeed in our classrooms. The goal is to have each child on track for success in kindergarten both academically and behaviorally. Nurtury Tremont Street is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. All Nurtury Centers are warm and nurturing environments that stimulate the social, emotional, and educational well-being of each child, creating an ideal setting for children to be inspired, to learn, and to prepare for Kindergarten. Nurtury Centers have a designated Family Partner to lend support and resource referrals to enrolled families. The program operates year-round. It is licensed by the Dept of EEC and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). It is managed by a full-time Director, Assistant Director, and 9 Lead Teachers ( one in each classroom), 13 Teachers, and 2 Teacher Assistants. A designated Family Partner to lend support and resource referrals to incoming families. Free healthy snacks, breakfast, and lunch provided daily.
