There are many ways to support our school. Fundraisers are organized throughout the school year, so keep an eye on our Sumner School Newsfeed for fun events and shopping opportunities that benefit our school.
Direct monetary donations are always appreciated and help with funding field trip, enrichment programs, and needed supplies for our school. We are working on an online donation mechanism, but in the meantime please mail a check or money order payable to "Charles Sumner School" to the school at the following address:
15 Basile Street, Roslindale, MA 02131
If you would like the funds to go to a specific initiative like field trips, enrichment programs, supplies, etc. please indicate that on the memo section of your check/money order. Unspecified donations will go into our general fund to support what is needed most.
Donations sent to the school are deposited with our fiscal agent, the Boston Educational Development Fund (BEDF). BEDF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that serves as a fiscal partner to Boston Public Schools. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Detailed financial information is available on request.
Staff at the school also organize classroom fundraising projects through organizations such as DonorsChoose. More information about current giving opportunities can be found here.
The Sumner School Parent Council also raises funds to cover meeting and event costs as well as support the school and cover funding gaps. More information about Parent Council Fundraisers can be found here.
