    K0/K1 Teacher

    Ms. Wirth

As one of the K0-K1 teachers I get the privilege of seeing to the needs of the King School's youngest students. I have been a teacher here since the 2011-2012 school year, and attended the King School for middle school. It has been an amazing and wonderful experience to be able to work a school that I went to, in a community I still live in. Every year I make new lifelong friendships with students, families, and coworkers. I have worked at several BPS schools, but the King School is truly my home. I am dedicated not only to giving students opportunities for success at a young age, but to helping families navigate the uncertain world of their child's first school experience.

My name is Lavonne Bishop and this is my second year working as a K0/K1 Centerbased educator at the King. I graduated from Wheaton College in Norton, MA in 2007. I have always had a passion for working with children. I can remember as a younger child arranging my dolls and stuffed animals in their classroom and creating names for them and calling the attendance. I would even make up tests and correct them! Now, I see, know and understand in greater depth the different components it takes to teach and educate children such as connecting socially, emotionally, spiritually, etc. I am not only a teacher, I am a counselor, leader, and guider to my students. My goal and mission is to give my students a voice.
