Boston Special Education Parent Advisory Council

  • The Boston Special Education Parent Advisory Council (Boston SpEdPAC) is a citywide parent advocacy organization with the sole purpose of sharing information and resources to help all families of special education students understand their rights and options accurately and comprehensively.

Boston SpEdPAC believes that informed and engaged parents can best advocate for their children to ensure that their education and social needs are met in a least restrictive environment. The organization holds monthly general meetings to discuss important topics and offer training sessions through our network of experienced professionals.

The purpose of SpEdPAC is to provide a voice and give support for parents of children with special needs. We are a multi-lingual, multi-cultural, council made up exclusively of parent volunteers. We work with the Boston Public Schools system to ensure that children get the services and support they need to develop to their full potential. All parents are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Boston SpEdPAC, in conjunction with the Office of Special Education and other community partners, successfully concluded its 2018-19 school year with General Elections on May 23, 2019 and SpEdPAC's 2019-20 new Leadership Board is listed below.

Understanding that not all families are able to attend monthly General Meetings, SpedPAC is actively seeking input from families for additional remote meeting locations to be considered for the future.   Please take a few moments to share your opinion here about a location that would work for you.
