What is FERPA?
FERPA is the law that a) provides families with the right to have access to their child's educational records, the right to seek to have the record amended, and the right to have control over the disclosure of that record. The FERPA statute is found at 20 U.S.C. § 1232g and the FERPA regulations are found at 34 CFR Part 99.What does BPS consider "Directory Level information?
Directory information includes the following: student’s name, age, grade level, dates of enrollment. BPS does not consider the date of birth, state unique student identification number, address, telephone listing, or school name as directory level information even though FERPA law includes this.
