About the Conference
A spike in the reporting of bias-based incidents in schools demands our attention as educators and advocates. What best practices are emerging to address incidents through effective investigation and intervention? How can we actively prevent future incidents? What broad inequities are highlighted by these incidents, and how can we initiate and sustain institutional change?
In May 2017, the Boston Public Schools Office of Equity and Boston Educational Development Fund hosted an acclaimed statewide, daylong conference on addressing bias-based incidents for nearly 200 Massachusetts school and district administrators. We are currently planning our second annual conference, which will expand the conference to two days, and broaden the audience to leaders from Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
When: April 25 - 26, 2018
Where: Boston/Dedham Hilton, Dedham, Massachusetts
Who: 300 to 400 K-12 district and school administrators from across southern New England
Host: Boston Public Schools Office of Equity and Boston Educational Development Fund
