Explore the Interactive RubricHere’s one way to look at the teacher rubric elements. The lower tiers represent foundational teacher competencies, skills and knowledge that any educator needs to be minimally proficient in to ensure a functional learning environment. The upper tiers focus on aspects of instruction and practice that require sustained reflection, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This pyramid is a representation, an imperfect one that doesn't capture all the nuances of the teaching craft. However, it may also be a useful one in helping you think through the interrelatedness of different aspects of teaching and in narrowing your focus for growth.
Suggestion: Identify one of the teacher rubric elements you want to improve in. Look at the associated elements on the pyramid that are below or to the side of your identified element. Spend some time clicking through these elements, reflecting on how you're doing and identifying high leverage moves to practice.
