Important Dates for School Year 2021-2022 School Year Registration
Update on Exam School Invitation Timelines: On Wednesday, April 28, exam school admissions decisions were sent to families and students by email and regular mail. Please visit www.bostonpublicschools.org/exam for more information on exam school admissions.
For students entering grades K0, K1, 6, or 9 in September 2021: Assignment notifications for the 2021-2022 school year were sent out via email on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. If you did not receive an email with your assignment, please call the BPS Welcome Center at 617-635-9046 to find out your school assignment.
For students entering all other grades in September 2021: Assignment notifications will be sent out in mid to late May.
You can confirm your seat for next year by visiting www.bostonpublicschools.org/rsvp or calling the BPS Welcome Center at 617-635-9046.
For information on BPS Transportation Eligibility, please visit www.bostonpublicschools.org/transportation or call the Transportation Hotline at 617-635-9520. Additional details will be provided in June, including transportation eligibility, the timeline for families receiving bus assignments (for bus-eligible students), and how to opt-out of bus transportation if you don't need it.

BPS Welcome Centers in Dorchester, East Boston, and Roslindale are open for in-person appointments.
There are two ways to register your student for Boston Public Schools for the 2021-2022 school year:

If you have registered for BPS and your student needs language testing, the Newcomers Assessment Counseling Center will contact you to schedule a virtual appointment for your student’s assessment. Appointments are conducted online or by phone. Once your student has completed their language assessment, you will be able to make your school selections.
