Resources for Promoting Safe, Healthy and Welcoming Schools

  • Our country is experiencing historic change. There will continue to be conversations around our country’s political climate and many of our students and fellow educators are still processing the outcome of the 2016 election. We are fully committed to ensuring safe, healthy, and welcoming schools. We honor our democratic values and traditions and we will carry on with our mission to educate, support and prepare all students for success.

The Boston Public Schools Behavioral Health Department is available to support students who may be having a difficult time processing any fears or concerns they may have. Additionally, the Employee Assistance Program is available to support City of Boston employees’ well-being. Teaching Tolerance, a project by the Southern Poverty Law Center, has resources for handling the day after the 2016 election. Additional resources will be posted below.
