Large Learning Sessions: Held in the spring and the fall, these two all-day conferences include workshops covering a variety of topics of interest to parents.
Parent Essentials Program: A 10 session program designed to build and strengthen parents’ capacity as change agents to support their children’s education and improve Boston Public Schools.
Family Education Classes: Classes taught by the Parent University Family Education staff or BPS teachers. Meeting for 5 or more sessions, Family Education classes offer parents the opportunity to build deeper knowledge and to both learn and practice the skills they need to support their children’s learning.
Satellite Classes: A one-shot workshop or a short series course held in schools or community sites. Schools that currently hold their own workshops or classes for families (e.g. Technology Goes Home) can apply to have these classes approved for Parent University points. Classes can also be requested by schools or CBO sites.
Certificate Program: This program is designed to offer specialized instruction in either facilitation or special education law. These classes are 40 + hours in length and are offered to parents that complete the Parent University Parent Essentials curriculum.
