The Educator of the Year award recognizes the exceptional educators who go above and beyond to impact the lives of BPS students. The program celebrates educators who exemplify an outstanding commitment to young people.
We invite all members of the BPS community (teachers, administrators, students, families, and partners) to nominate exceptional educators and honor their work and dedication.

Guidelines

Nominations are to be submitted via the online nomination form (see the links above), with supporting documentation attached. Supporting documentation can include: written support, photo(s), a copy of student work or artwork, a video (2 minutes or less), or any other documentation that illustrates why an educator is deserving of the award.

All BPS community members are eligible to submit nominations. This is inclusive of students, BPS families, community members, community partners, school staff, School Leaders, and BPS Central Office Staff.

Groups that wish to support the nomination of one educator or co-teaching pair are encouraged to compile all submissions and complete one submission form.
Help us spread the word! Share nomination information with students, families, community members, and partner organizations. Please print and distribute flyers within your networks.

Eligibility
The following dues paying BTU members are eligible for nomination:
-
Classroom and specialist teachers, including librarians.
-
Related service providers such as: social workers, school psychologists, guidance counselors, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech and language pathologists, and audiologists.

Nurses.
-
Paraprofessionals, including community field coordinators, and family liaisons. Nominees must be fully licensed, and have served in an eligible position for a minimum of two school years.

Individuals may nominate no more than one educator or co-teaching pair per school.

A nomination form must be submitted for an educator to win. Supporting documentation is optional.

Nominees will be vetted by an internal working group. A formal review committee will select the most outstanding educators within Boston Public Schools.
