MAYOR WU ANNOUNCES BOSTON FAMILY DAYS, OFFERING FREE ACCESS FOR FAMILIES AT NINE INSTITUTIONS ACROSS BOSTON
Mayor Michelle Wu announced Boston Family Days, an expansion of the successful BPS Sundays pilot program, which gave Boston Public Schools students and their families free access to several cultural institutions throughout Boston. With today’s announcement, Mayor Wu has expanded this free access experience to include all Boston school-aged children and their families and added three new participating cultural institutions: the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, and the Museum of African American History.

CURLEY K-8 SCHOOL, MATTAHUNT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RECEIVE NATIONAL BANNER RECOGNITION FROM SPECIAL OLYMPICS FOR ACHIEVEMENTS WITH INCLUSION
Special Olympics Massachusetts has announced the Curley K-8 School and the Mattahunt Elementary School are receiving National Banner recognition for their efforts to provide inclusive sports and activities for students with and without disabilities.

EdVestors, a Boston-based school improvement organization, today awarded its $100,000 School on the Move Prize to Mattahunt Elementary School. The Prize, now in its 19th year, recognizes the schools, leaders, and teachers who create and continuously improve learning environments where all students can thrive.

BOSTON STUDENTS LEAD NATION, MAKE FURTHER GAINS IN 5TH QUARTER SUMMER PROGRAMS
Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Superintendent Mary Skipper, and National Summer Learning Association CEO Aaron Dworkin joined Boston After School & Beyond and more than 200 community leaders gathered to release a report on the summer of 2024 5th Quarter of Learning, which transforms the city into a classroom for thousands of students.
