What Are My Schools?

Check out www.discoverbps.org, a new tool designed to help you navigate your school discovery process. You can plug in your address and grade level and receive a customized list of schools available to you. Discoverbps.org will also provide you with a location map, introductory content about each school, visiting hours and more. Please note, this tool is still in testing mode. If you find errors or have questions, please contact us.

The "What Are My Schools?" application can also help you find out which schools are available for their students. This is the "official" list of schools we provide. Our system will locate the schools your students may request to enroll in, based on your home address.

Under Boston’s student assignment plan, the city is divided into three geographic “zones” — East, West, and North — for elementary and middle schools. Students may apply for:

  • Schools in the zone in which they live
  • Schools in other zones if the schools are within their “walk zone”
  • Citywide K–8 and middle schools open to all students

All high schools are citywide.
