Thank you for considering the Boston Public Schools for your child's education! We look forward to welcoming you to our schools. As the first public school district in America, we are proud of our rich history and promising future. Learn more about our "Points of Pride."
Visit the "What Are My Schools?" site to find a list of schools for which you are eligible to apply, including the schools that offer walk zone priority or yellow bus transportation for your child.
Under Boston's student assignment plan, the city is divided into three geographic "zones" -- East, West, and North -- for elementary and middle schools. Students may apply for:
- Schools in the zone in which they live
- Schools in other zones if the schools are within their "walk zone"
- Citywide K-8 and middle schools that are open to all students
All of our high schools are citywide, which means that students entering high school may apply for any school, regardless of location.
