Paraprofessionals
Paraprofessionals are an incredible resource at Boston Public Schools, working directly with students of all abilities to support teaching. Classroom Paraprofessionals, Community Field Coordinators, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA), Surround Care, Security, Library, and Health Paraprofessionals, and Instructional Assistant Trainees all help to support teaching and learning within our schools, and are eligible to receive:
- Professional Development
- School work schedules
- A clear path to becoming a full time certified Teacher
Requirements
To be a Paraprofessional, you must:
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Possess at least 48 credit hours of advanced course work, or a college degree (Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or other graduate work)
- If you do not have 48 credit hours, you must pass one of the following:
