Boston Student Advisory Council project: Student Rights and Responsibilities
Poster #1: Punctuality Policy, Cell Phone Policy

The Code of Discipline details Boston Public Schools policy about appropriate student behavior, as well as procedures for disciplinary action.  Individual schools also adopt codes of conduct that students must follow.

The Campaign to End Sexual Harassment is a partnership between the Boston Public Schools and the Hyde Square Task Force to encourage young women and their allies to identify harassment and take action in their community to stop it.  The BPS Office of Equity maintains a "Stop Harassment Hotline" at 617-635-9651.

High School Students: Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, public school districts must release the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of high school students to U.S. military and higher education recruiters.  Any student or parent has the right to request in writing that this information NOT be released.  If you do not want this information released, you must complete and return a form to your school during the month of September.  The form is available on page 36 of the Guide to the BPS for Students and Families, available for download on the Publications page.
