Boston Public Schools welcomes donations to support our critical mission of providing the children of Boston with a first-rate public education. Please consider the following opportunities to make tax-deductible donations to schools and classrooms.
Financial contributions
The Boston Educational Development Foundation (BEDF) is the Boston Public Schools' non-profit foundation. BEDF is a 501c(3) tax exempt organization (Federal and State tax identification number: 22-2514422).

Individual teachers and other educators post requests for financial support for specific classroom projects on two partner websites:
Mayor Thomas M. Menino established the City of Boston Scholarship Fund to provide assistance to Boston residents who plan to pursue a two or four year undergraduate program within Massachusetts.

Classroom materials
Extras for Creative Learning (E.x.C.L.) Recycle Center is a clearinghouse that recovers materials from being discarded by businesses and redistributes them for creative educational use. The program enables corporations and businesses to contribute to their community (with a tax benefit) while saving on inventory and waste costs. In turn, teachers, childcare providers, service programs, artists, and families are able to obtain supplies for an affordable annual membership fee.

Computers
Project Refresh is the district's technology donation program that strengthens Boston's ability to put technology resources into the hands of teachers and students. By establishing new strategic partnerships with Boston's business community to acquire donated computers through annual commitments, Project Refresh augments BPS's efforts to create a sustainable computer lifecycle model that provides schools with updated technology tools to help all students meet high standards.
Boston welcomes ongoing, annual commitments of recently refreshed computers and technology equipment from Boston businesses and community organizations. To learn more about the program, please contact:
